The 104-page book (softcover, thread stitching) documents the history of the expellees from the former German eastern territories who have come as refugees and displaced persons to Borken. In three illustrated chapters (essays, documentation and exhibits), the story is by speaking eyewitnesses (oral history) imaged documented.

The documentation was created from 2009 to 2015 as part of a cooperation project of the City Museum Borken with the University of Münster (WWU). The personal memories of contemporary witnesses provide an insight into the challenges and opportunities of social interaction in a difficult time.
